Happy Valentine's Day! We will be having our grade two box lunch social on February 14th. Please remember to bring your lunch for two or juice boxes.

Language

Please spend time reading with your child each night. Participation in the Home Reading Program is key to helping your child develop their literacy skills. I encourage you to ensure that your child reads and returns their baggie book each day. We are busy with our guided reading program and literacy centers. We will continue to work on our creative writing skills. Students are learning to add detail and use descriptive vocabulary in their writing as well as creating a strong beginning, middle and end to their stories.

Math

We are finishing our unit on mental math strategies. We will continue to practice and strenghten these strategies throughout the remainder of the school year. Please continue to practice daily at home. We are also beginning our new unit on linear measurement. Please check your child's agenda for a letter about this unit.
