About Our School

Welcome to St. Mary School

St. Mary School serves the town of Whitecourt and the surrounding rural area. We offer a dual track program for K-3 in English and K-4 in French Immersion. Our shared vision is to have “everyone achieve success every day.” To realize this vision, we promote the academic, physical, cultural, social, spiritual and aesthetic growth and development of all students. Like other schools within the Living Waters Catholic Regional Division #42, we have small class sizes wherein teachers work conscientiously to provide learning opportunities to ensure each child reaches his or her full potential.

We are proud to share the following words of St. Mary School’s Spirit Song with you. “We create a rainbow of laughter, life and fun, taking care of others is a job for everyone.” It is through a Catholic culture of excellence commitment that we fulfill our duties to students, parents, and the St. Joseph Parish community.

Our core values as outlined in the 2008-2009 “Annual Plan for Learning” include living and teaching by love, through faith, with integrity, with laughter, by modeling, with loyalty, with respect, and with patience. We are thankful for your continued support and cooperation as we provide a safe and caring learning environment for your child.

Yours in Catholic education,

Lorraine Devereaux, Ed. D Principal
